MANCHESTER UNITED
Van der Sar - 6 - Scrambled across to save several tame Fulham shots. Dominant in the air. Nothing to do in the second half.
Neville - 5 - Not at the races. Passing was sloppy, caught in possession a number of times and failed to deliver a stream of crosses. Taken off for Fabio da Silva.
Ferdinand - 6 - Fitness is returning. Noticeably faster when forced to sprint. Swept up when Vidic dealt with Zamora.
Vidic - 8.5 - Relished the physical battle with Zamora and left bloodied after one duel. Stuck to the forward like glue and used strength to win the contest. Made fantastic block on the striker when through on goal after uncharacteristic slip.
Evra - 7 - Industrious and exciting. Lack of threat from the visitors allowed him to bomb forward. Embarrassed himself with wild shot that went for a throw-in.
Valencia - 5 - Never moved out of second gear. Carried tired legs from mid-week. Substituted for Park. Booked.
Carrick - 7 - Quick to move the ball to the dangerous Nani. Dominated possession and had a number of shots blocked. Always aware of the full picture.
Fletcher - 7 - Trademark energy got him in to dangerous positions. Served a chance up on a plate for Rooney which was spurned. Drifted out wide to supply some inviting centres.
Nani - 8 - Best performance to date on the left wing. Was comfortable using either foot and set up Rooney¥"s opener with a perfectly weighted cross. Importantly, distribution was quick and accurate.
Berbatov - 8 - Great display only sullied by erratic finishing. Dovetailed with Rooney to good effect and set up his second. Hid face in shirt after spurning number of opportunities before finally grabbing a goal.
Rooney - 8.5 - Frustrations of first half instantly ebbed away after the break with sharp finish. Had tried his luck from distance beforehand to no effect. Desperate to claim hat trick. Only negative was stream of abuse directed at the referee.
Substitutes
Park - 8 - Made hay in the space afforded by Fulham. Pulled out a series of great crosses and set-up Berbatov¥"s goal
Fabio da Silva - 5 - Given no chance to shine in short time on the pitch
