Milan are driving towards CSKA Moscow playmaker Keisuke Honda and they could get away with him as they move through the gears in their pursuit.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims CEO Adriano Galliani has been eyeing players at the World Cup who have impressed, and Honda falls into that category.
Honda was the Samurai Blue"s top scorer in South Africa and he helped his side reach the last 16 where they went out against Paraguay on penalties.
Milan are keen to add quality, but are also eager to expand their branding and marketing business strategies in Asia, and they are confident Honda will represent the grist of the mill both on the pitch and financially.
Galliani is expected to open the gateway to trade by sending CSKA a smoke signal for the Japanese ace.
Nelson Dida"s departure has freed up a place for a non-EU player and Honda"s arrival will not affect Milan"s quota, even if they sign Luis Fabiano from Sevilla.
