[뉴스핌=황세원 기자] 잘생기고 아름다운 외모, 황금비율 워너비 몸매에 대한 열망은 전 세계 여성 어느 누구에게도 예외가 아닐 것이다. 최근 중국에서는 미(美)에 대한 관심이 높아지고 소득이 뒷받침되면서 뷰티성형 시장이 폭발적으로 성장하고 있다. 2017년 중국 뷰티성형 시장이 브라질을 제치고 2대 시장으로 부상한 가운데, 현지 업계에서는 향후 1~2년 내 중국 뷰티성형 시장 규모가 조위안대를 돌파할 것으로 내다보고 있다.
지난해 12월 중국 뷰티 플랫폼 겅메이(更美)App가 발표한 ‘2017년 중국 뷰티성형 시장 백서’에 따르면 중국은 성형 시술 경험자 수 1020만여명으로 브라질(960만여명)을 제치고 세계 2대 뷰티성형 시장으로 부상했다. 1위는 미국으로, 성형 시술 경험자 수는 1660만여명이다.
특히 중국 뷰티성형 시장은 글로벌 평균을 대폭 웃도는 성장세로 이목을 끌었다. 중국 유명 뷰티앱(APP) 신양(新氧)에 따르면 2017년 중국 뷰티성형 시장 성장률은 42%로 글로벌 평균 수준인 7%를 웃돌았다.
현지 업계에서는 2019년 중국 뷰티성형 시장이 조위안대로 성장, 부동산ㆍ여행 등과 함께 중국 핵심 서비스 산업이 될 것으로 전망했다.
