The hugely popular anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly has now made over $100 million worldwide, making it the most successful movie in the Dragon Ball franchise.
According to Mantan Web and backed up by Box Office Mojo, Dragon Ball Super: Broly has managed to make over $100 million globally, setting a new record for the Dragon Ball series in the process.
To date, the domestic box office total for the film is at $30,031,318, with the total foreign box office amounting to $71,932,278. While you may think that Japan is mostly responsible for that figure, in fact, the Japanese box office only accounts for under half the total foreign box office, at $34,149,992.
The remainder is spread across a variety of countries, though it is also worth pointing out that Dragon Ball Super: Broly has yet to be released in China.
Considering that Dragon Ball Super: Broly reportedly only had a budget of $8.5 million, this latest box office figure is impressive in relation to that.
Especially as the domestic success of the film is almost in line with the Japanese theatrical release from last year, which is definitely unusual.
This also places Dragon Ball Super: Broly in third place of the top anime movies in U.S. theaters, which is also something I dont think anyone really expected.
