▲「ソーシャル・ディスタンス」死角地帯 写真＝チョ・ユミ記者総選挙前日だった14日、ソウル市中区乙支路（ウルチロ）3街の「ビール横町」。英語の「hip」（ヒップ＝流行に明るい）との合成語で「ヒップ支路」（ヒップチロ）と呼ばれるこの地域では、午後7時ごろからビアホールのテーブルが20－30代の若者でいっぱいになり始めた。2時間もたたないうちに、この地域の看板店「マンソン・ホップ本店」の1・2階計100席は満席に。近くにある別のビアホールでも楽しそうにビール・パーティーが開かれていた。客らはすき間がないほどピッタリとくっついて座り、ビールを飲み干した。席に座るには、これらの人々の間に割って入らなければならない。合い席をしようとする人も見かけた。2メートル間隔の「ソーシャル・ディスタンス」（社会的距離・感染防止のため人と人の間に距離を取ること）は見る影もない。
