(a) Japan recognizing the independence of Korea, renounces all right, title and claim to Korea, including the islands of Quelpart（済州島）, Port Hamilton（巨文島 and Dagelet（鬱陵島）サンフランシスコ条約で日本が放棄する島は済州島、巨文島、鬱陵島が明確に書いてあるが、竹島（独島）を放棄する場合は
明確にリアンクール（"and Liancourt Rocks"）を書かなければならないとするサンフランシスコ条約作成責任部署
米国補足資料（1951年7月16日）が発見された。
