보도에 의하면, 반군 관계자는 이 날, 인텔 팩스 통신에 「한국인 용병에 대한 재판이 준비되어 있다」라고 해 「그는 우크라이나군을 위해서 싸웠다」라고 분명히 했다.로이터는 반군 관계자가잡힌 한국인 용병의 이름을 분명히 하지 않았다고 전했다.
앞서 9일에는 우크라이나군과 함께 용병으로서 활동해 포로가 된 영국인 2명과 모로코인 1명이 드네트크 인민공화국(DPR) 최고재판소에서 사형 선고를 받았다.DPR는 우크라이나 동부에서 협의 반군이 2014년부터 독립선언을 한 자칭 공화국이다.

South Korean to go on trial in Russia-controlled East Ukraine - Ifax

June 11 (Reuters) - A captured fighter from South Korea will go on trial in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People"s Republic (DPR), which is controlled by pro-Russian separatists, Interfax news agency reported citing separatist official Natalia Nikonorova.
"A verdict is being prepared now on a mercenary from South Korea. He is their citizen who fought for the armed forces of Ukraine," Interfax quoted her as saying on Saturday.
She did not reveal the name of the fighter.
