An arrest warrant has been issued for a female identified by her surname Ahn, 37, for forcing Korean women into prostitution in Japan, revealed the International Crime Investigation Department of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Wednesday.
According to the police, Ahn’s gang have sent over 70 women to Tokyo since October 2008 and have made unfair profits of 35 million won per month.
The group found women who were in debt on purpose and, through a loan shark, all the debts were paid. Afterwards, they were sent to Japan, believing that they were to work at ‘massage parlors’. Instead, the victims were locked up and forced to sell their bodies.
Their passports were also taken away from them and were under 24-hour surveillance. Most of the money they made was taken away.
Investigators have booked the loan shark without detention while looking for the other partners in Japan with the help of Interpol.
